1. What is the check-in and check-out times?
Checkout is at noon and check-in is at 3 p.m. We can provide early check-ins or late check-outs upon request, subject to availability and eventual additional cost.
2. What is the best way to get from the airport?
You have several comfortable options: Private transfer: we can arrange for a private transfer on request. Price is 35€ for up to 4 people. Taxi: permanently available on arrival although there may be a queue. Price should be around 10 to 15€, depending on traffic (please make sure that the meter is running and pay only amount shown in meter. Ask for a receipt) Subway: take the red line until the last stop (S. Sebastião) and change to blue line and get off at Restauradores. From there walk to the Lisbonaire, around 100 meters. Price is 1,4€ per person. Aerobus: the aerobus runs from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and stops 100 meters from the Lisbonaire (Restauradores). Price is 3,15€ for adults and 2€ for children.
3. Do you have a car park?
The Lisbonaire has indoor car parking, with a cost of 15€ per day, subject to availability. The parking is accessible by elevator and limited to a car length of 4,60m. There are several other available parking options very close to the Lisbonaire at similar prices.
4. We need to rent a car, can you help us?
We can book you a car at no extra cost and it will be delivered right next to the Lisbonaire. Contact us for prices.
5. What is the best way to get around Lisbon?
Walking: the best way to visit Lisbon is walking. The Lisbonaire is ideally located to visit the main attractions. Rossio Square, Baixa, Chiado, Bairro Alto, Alfama, the river and the Castle are all between 5 and 15 minutes away. Public transportation: the 6€ VIVA ticket allows to travel the city buses, trams and subway for 24h. For single trips you can buy individual tickets, inside the transport. Tram: the tram is a charming way to visit the old town center. The 28 tram takes you on a 7km ride along the historic districts of Lisbon (nearest stop, Rua da Conceição). The tram can get a bit crowded so beware of your belongings. Tram 15 departs from Praça da Figueira and takes you to the monumental area of Belém. Tickets can be bought inside the tram, for 2,85€ per person. Pre-bought tickets are cheaper. Subway: the subway is the fastest way to get to a distant location in Lisbon, although not very useful in the historic center. Use it to go to Gulbenkian, Parque das Nações or the Airport. See the network diagram. 'Cacilheiros': Lisbon's public riverboats depart from Praça do Comércio, Cais do Sodré and Belém. Its a wonderful way to view the city's skyline from the river and much cheaper than the tourist options. Price from 1,20€ per person. Funiculars: Lisbon has several hills that can be quite steep. You can be comfortably transported to the top using the centenary lifts and funiculars, at a cost of around 4€. Hop on Hop off bus: departing from Praça da Figueira, the yellow bus tours company offers a variety of tours on tram cars or open top buses that give you a quick overview of the city.
6. Where can we search for more information on Lisbon's local attractions?
The main tourism office in Lisbon is just around the corner from the Lisbonaire. The front desk manager will be happy to give you suggestions and recommendations, and you can check our City Guide and Tours and Activities sections. For some up-to-date suggestions check this website.
7. What activities or attractions are available for my children?
There are numerous options for children of all ages in Lisbon. Lisbon's aquarium is considered the best in Lisbon, the Zoo, the Planetary, the interactive science museum and the children´s film library, right next door to the Lisbonaire, just to name a few. Check here for updates and suggestions.
8. What are the best areas for dining or recommended restaurants?
Lisbon is known for its diverse and delicious gastronomy and has lately seen the revival of the traditional kiosks, 'tabernas' and 'tascas' where you can stop for a tidbit and refreshment. In Lisbon you can find flavors from all aroud Portugal but also from the former territories of Goa, Cape Verde, Brazil and much more. 9. Where is the nearest supermarket?
There are several options nearby, including two convenience stores open until midnight, in our street, and supermarket, organic supermarket and fresh market in 5 minute walk (Rua 1º de Dezembro, Praça da Figueira).
10. Where can I have breakfast?
We can provide great breakfast boxes to your room at a cost of 10€, on request. Alternatively, Lisbon is filled with cafés and pastry shops where lisboners usually have coffee or breakfast in the morning. Around the Lisbonaire we recommend Café Gelo, Nicola or Suiça, all in Rossio, Confeitaria Nacional, the oldest in Lisbon in Praça da Figueira or Brasileira, Bénard, Café Royale, Tartine, or Padaria Portuguesa, in Chiado.
11. Where can I store my luggage? What are the available facilities for early arrival guests?
There is a free, shared storage room for guests in the Basement. Additionally, early arrival guests can enjoy the Basement, a lounge room with couches, WiFi, TV, pool table, library, board games, gym, restroom and honesty bar.
12. What is the cost of an additional person with rollaway bed?
The option to add an extra bed is only available in our studios and one-bedroom apartments, and has an additional cost of 20€. Please request in advance.
13. Can I bring my pet?
Pets are allowed upon agreement and have an extra charge of 20€ per night.
14. Is it safe to leave my personal belongings in the room?
The Lisbonaire has a track record of security, but nevertheless we recommend our guests to leave their valuables and documents in the safe, available in every room. The Lisbonaire is not responsible for items lost.
15. What television channels are available in the room?
We have international news channels from Spain (TVE24), France (France24), Italy (RAI News), Germany (RTL), Brazil (Globo), China (PhoenixCNE), Russia (Russia 24) and Africa (RTP Africa). There are also plenty of channels for kids, movies, series, nature, science, music, etc. Because foreign programming is usually subtitled, you can watch movies and series in english. Our policies
1. Reservation and payment
Reservations for The Lisbonaire Apartments can be made through our website, email guests@lisbonaire.com or phone + 351 912 769 797 (from 10am to 11pm). The Lisbonaire accepts online payments using credit card or PayPal. In both cases the PayPal payment gateway is used to ensure complete safety on the transaction. PayPal is the leading online payment system in the world. Offline reservations can be paid by bank transfer. The reservation will remain pending until confirmation of transfer. Any additional expenses incurred will be supported by the guest. The Lisbonaire requires full payment at the moment of the reservation, which is fully refundable up to 72 hours before the arrival date, according to our Cancellation and Alterations Policy. To complete the reservation, the guest must acknowledge and accept the present Terms and Conditions of Service. When a reservation is completed The Lisbonaire will send a confirmation email to the address given during reservation. Your reservation is only confirmed after you receive the confirmation email!
2. City Tax
Please note that from the 1st of January 2016 a city tax of EUR 2 per person, per night is not included in the total price and should be paid on site. This tax is charged to guests aged 13 and older. It is subject to a maximum amount of EUR 14 per guest.
3. Weekly and Monthly Rates
The Lisbonaire offers special rates for week+ stays. Please inquire through email [email protected] or telephone + 351 912 769 797 (from 10 am to 10 pm).
4. Cancellation and Alterations Policy
The Lisbonaire fully refunds reservations cancelled up to 72 hours before the arrival date. The refund, excluding transaction costs, will take place within 5 working days. If the cancellation is made after this moment there will be a 50% penalty and in case of no-show the full amount of the reservation will be charged. Alterations in the arrival dates or guest numbers will be subject to apartment availability. In case The Lisbonaire cannot provide the reserved apartment, a similar or superior apartment will be made available to the guest.
5. Arrival / Check-in
To better welcome you, we request you to inform us of the time of your arrival. The Lisbonaire Apartments is located in Rua da Glória, 16 in Lisbon (Restauradores). You can use one of the following public transportations: Subway station - Restauradores (100 m), Train - Rossio Train Station (250 m), Bus - 36, 91 (airport Aerobus), 205, 207, 702, 709, 711, 732 (Belém), 759 (Estação do Oriente train station), Taxi - from the airport 10 to 15 €, Private transfer from the airport - from 35€. Access to the apartment is done electronically using the numerical code sent in the confirmation email, that opens the exterior door of the building and the door of your apartment. Please do not forget to bring the access codes with you!You can check-in your apartment after 3 pm. The Lisbonaire will try to accommodate early arrivals on request, subject to apartment availability. You can temporary leave your luggage in our storage room. Please check and bring your confirmation email with the acess codes to the apartment.
6. Cleaning
The Lisbonaire Apartments ensures that the apartment is in perfect condition prior to your arrival, namely that the rooms, bathroom and kitchen have been cleaned, beds have been newly made and enough clean towels are provided. Daily housekeeping is provided free of charge during your stay and is performed between 1 and 6pm. Towels and bed linen are changed in longer stays. If you don't want housekeeping in your apartment please inform the front-desk directly or by email, or place the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on your door. We ask that you keep the apartment clean and tidy during your stay. When you check-out please leave all the garbage packaged and ready to be collected. The cost of your reservation includes cleaning after you leave the apartment with no extra fee. Please check our COVID-19 policy for alterations during the pandemic period.
7. Damage
The Lisbonaire will not, under any circumstances, be held responsible for any direct and/or indirect damage to the apartments or its contents. Any damage must be immediately communicated to the Manager that will try to provide repair or substitution and will make a decision on any additional cost.
8. Number of Guests
During reservation the guest must indicate the number of people that will stay in the apartment. Any alteration to this number must be communicated to The Lisbonaire Apartments with a minimum of 48h prior to the arrival and is subject to apartment availability. Every guest must have a valid ID and credit card. Unaccompanied guests under 18 are not allowed. Children under 4 years of age are not considered in the number of guests. Baby cots, carriages, toys and other equipment may be provided during your stay, under request. If the apartment is being occupied by more guests than declared in the reservation, guests may incur in additional costs or expulsion of apartment.
9. Pets
Generally, pets are not allowed. If you plan to bring your pet please inquire beforehand.
10. Smoking
Smoking is not allowed inside the apartments, only in the designated open-air areas.
11. Check-out
Guests should free the apartment until 12h. Cleaning teams may enter the apartment after this hour. You can request a late check-out which is subject to cleaning schedules and apartment availability. Late check-out may imply the payment of half a day rate. You can temporary leave your luggage in our storage room, on request (should not exceed cabin size). Please leave all the garbage packaged and ready to be collected.
12. Behaviour
We expect all our guests to behave properly and respect people and property, allowing other guests to rest and have a pleasant stay in The Lisbonaire Apartments. We request our guests to attend the following rules: * Noise should be reduced to a minimum between 11pm and 9 am; * Smoking is not allowed in the apartments, only in the designated open-air areas.; * When leaving the apartment please check that lights, appliances and A/C are turned off. It avoids fire hazard and saves energy; * Keep the apartment clean and tidy, take good care of the furniture and equipment inside; * Please leave all the garbage packaged and ready to be collected; * For your safety and of your belongings please verify that you keep the apartment door closed, The Lisbonaire Apartments cannot be made responsible for any thefts during your stay; * Any damage or malfunction should be communicated to the Manager immediately; * The Lisbonaire Apartments may expel a guest and its group in case of serious violation of these rules or misbehavior, with no refund.
13. Responsability
The Lisbonaire Apartments will, under no circumstances, be held responsible for any direct and/or indirect damage incurred during the stay, namely aggressions against persons, loss of belongings, damage by fire, theft or any other criminal behaviour.
14. Site
The Lisbonaire Apartments reserves the right to alter or change at all times the information contained in the site, and has sole and exclusive ownership of the content. The Terms and Conditions are clearly described in the site and it is the responsibility of the visitors to read the information made available.
15. Cookie Policy
Cookies and other similar technologies are an essential part of how our Platform works. The main goal of cookies is to make your browsing experience easier and more efficient and to improve our services and the Platform itself. 16. Disputes
